Time for a serious intervention

I don’t always eat a high raw diet but I generally eat an extremely healthy nutrient dense organic green diet, however, somehow between the end of December and mid February my body started an expansion. An expansion I needed to reverse quickly! I no longer fit into my jeans. My energy level wasn’t great. True I ate different foods than I normally did during the December holiday season but did hot yoga most days so I felt fine.

Then in January my 3 1/2 year old son Sage was home sick for many days. I too was home sick for many days. I just wasn’t feeling like myself. I felt lethargic, had brain fog and slept as much as I could. I became completely derailed from my usual yoga schedule. My holiday diet caught up with me.

The truth is when I returned to doing hot yoga again it felt really hard. The truth is I kept doing yoga and eating my usual healthy diet but the expansion remained. This expansion and the factors behind this expansion lead me to some serious conclusions. It was time for a serious intervention. My body just wasn’t bouncing back into shape like it used to.

There was no time for delay no time to wait no time for procrastination.  Deep down I felt like I had to formulate a new plan to rectify this situation and regain the health I had a few months previously. I decided to embark on a high raw green diet for as long as it took to get my body back into my stretchy jeans lol, my energy level to a steady high and a general feeling of radiant health.

So this is what I’ve been doing. I drink at least 4 cups of water upon waking. I started Hulda Clarke’s parasite cleanse, started taking spirulina, wheatgrass and vita mineral powders twice daily in half freshly squeezed orange juice and half water.

I chose this trifecta green superfood combination for the following reasons.  Spirulina detoxifies heavy metals from the body and is rich in antioxidants and vitamins A, C, E and folate, and is an excellent source of protein. Antioxidants protect the body from free radicals or unstable molecules that destroy healthy cells and can lead to disease. Also, spirulina is a great blood sugar stabilizer which is very calming.

Wheatgrass is a fantastic source of chlorophyll and similarly to spirulina is rich in all three antioxidants A, C and E, other vitamins and neutralizes toxins. It is touted as a complete food because it is an excellent source of protein as it contains 17 amino acids, the building blocks of protein and 92 minerals. This incredible plant has an abundance of chlorophyll which contains light energy from the sun making it an extraordinary healing plant internally and externally and slows the aging process.

Vita mineral green is a nutrient dense superfood green powder containing vitamins, minerals, all essential amino acids, antioxidants, chlorophyll, phytonutrients, probiotics, fiber and other organic nutrients.

In addition to this raw green drink , I participated in hot yoga, my exercise of choice, many mornings weekly. After yoga I blend up a giant green smoothie composed of half a pound of fresh organic spinach, frozen peaches, frozen cherries, coconut water and ice. This morning I used fresh strawberries instead of cherries as they just came into season. I add stevia for sweetness. I prefer to use low glycemic fruits like berries but the most important thing overall is to make a smoothie that you truly enjoy! Sometimes I will mix in mango, banana and pineapple.

In the early afternoon I enjoy a large green salad with my favorite greens (arugula, mixed greens, romaine, micro- greens,  I like to mix it up) cucumbers, tomatoes, red/orange/yellow peppers, raw olives, avocado and pumpkin or sunflower seeds.  I flavor my salad with all kinds of spices like: turmeric, himalayan salt, black pepper, sometimes onion powder and coconut aminos and sesame oil. It’s important to use organic spices whenever possible as conventional spices use additives, unknown fillers and preservatives like MSG. Sometimes I will compliment my salad with a few raw crackers or kale chips.

Later in the afternoon I will drink a second raw green juice with the three green powders. For snacks I munch on superfood kale krunch by alive and radiant or the spicy variety. If I crave chocolate I indulge on chocolate kale krunch.

Around dinner time I make a second green smoothie with spinach, almond butter, dates, raw cacao, coconut water and ice. I also drink plenty of water throughout the day.  Other drinks I enjoy are homemade lemonade (freshly squeezed lemon juice, water, ice and stevia) and kombucha.

I don’t count calories but rather pay attention to nourishing myself as much as possible by: taking weekly baths with magnesium, Dead Sea salts, baking soda, Epsom salt to aid my body in eliminating toxins, purchasing a new dress, outfit or some article of clothing to aspire to looking fabulous in one day, listening to my favorite music, getting a pedicure or a massage.

Well, I finished Hulda Clark’s 18 day parasite cleanse and began the maintenance program which includes taking capsules or liquid once a week. Today is day 10 of eating a high raw green diet.  Overall I’m feeling better, sleeping better, feeling more alert, feeling lighter, calmer and my brain is definitely working better. In addition, I’m fitting into my jeans again. As I mentioned previously I will continue to eat a high raw green diet until I get to where I feel like I’m my best self. Or I may just continue eating a high raw green diet- because it feels so good.

Blessings,

Robyn Lev
